We have almost finished the last reading book of first grade. Students should have practiced the story, Seven Sillies. There are several difficult words in this story like gorgeous, beautiful and splendid. Please work with you child on this story and these harder words. These books will be collected on Tuesday, May 27. |

The talent show was a big success last Friday. We all had a great time. Our very own Noah participated in the talent show by telling jokes for his talent. He received 2nd place for 1st grade. Congratulations Noah! You did a great job. I’ve had several people tell me how much they enjoyed his performance. |

Vocabulary Quiz |
We have been taking vocabulary quizzes on words from our reading stories 2 or 3 times a week for several weeks now. This Friday we will be taking the vocabulary quiz for a grade. Students prepare for this vocabulary quiz by practicing the story. I choose 16 words from the story and put them on flashcards. I have the words written on a separate page. If a student knows the word, he/she gets a check. If he/she doesn’t know the word, I mark it wrong. I will send these vocabulary quizzes home in the take-home folder the following week. |
