These books will be collected on Tuesday, May  27.

The talent show was a big success last Friday.  We all had a great time.  Our very own Noah participated in the talent show by telling jokes for his talent.  He received 2nd place for 1st grade.  Congratulations Noah!  You did a great job.  I’ve had several people tell me how much they enjoyed his performance.

Vocabulary Quiz

We have been taking vocabulary quizzes on words from our reading stories 2 or 3 times a week for several weeks now. This Friday we will be taking the vocabulary quiz for a grade.  Students prepare for this vocabulary quiz by practicing the story.  I choose 16 words from the story and put them on flashcards.  I have the words written on a separate page. If a student knows the word, he/she gets a check.  If he/she doesn’t know the word, I mark it wrong.  I will send these vocabulary quizzes home in the take-home folder the following  week.
